If you ride a lot, check and rotate your wheels regularly. If you are riding switch perfectly and as much as your regular stance, you will be able to ride your wheels until the plastic core. But this can also mean cutting out some of the fun of riding. If you just pay attention to riding your wheels perfectly you might lose some fun of shredding.
