His ability to combine speed and precision with flawless control. He embodied the Freebord spirit, pushing the limits with every ride, inspiring an entire generation. David played fast and hard, never slowing down.

If you’ve ever seen Jonay Grosso on a descent, you’ve probably felt the raw energy he brings. Rookie of the Year in 2014, Jonay quickly climbed the ranks to become a pro rider. His aggressive and bold style quickly earned him a spot among the greats, and today, he’s a cornerstone of the Freebord scene. Every session, Jonay proves that his Rookie of the Year title was just the beginning.

You can’t talk about rookies who left their mark on Freebord without mentioning Chris JordanRookie of the Year in 2011. But just as quickly as he appeared, Chris vanished from the Freebord radar. His career held so much promise, and he could have easily competed with the best, but for reasons unknown, he stepped away from the game. Nonetheless, his impact—though brief—was immense, and his time on the scene inspired many riders to push the limits of their tricks.

These three riders left their mark on Freebord history in their own ways. Whether they’re still in the game or not, their rookie performances remain etched in the memories of the community. They pushed the boundaries and continue to inspire the next generation of riders, who dream of earning the coveted Rookie of the Year title.
