What Size Freebord Should I buy?

So you’re in the market for a Freebord but you’re just not sure what the heck all these measurements mean. Well, you’re in luck. I’ve broken down the basics in one short-and-sweet post, so read on to find out what bord you need to be shredding.

So, what do all these measurements mean?

Freebord decks follow the same industry standard sizing method as snowboards. Here’s a breakdown of each measurement:

The length is measured in centimeters.

The stance width is measured from the middle of each of the bindings.

The width is measured at the widest section of the deck.

What size should I get then?

Now that I’ve covered the basic measurements, let’s get you sized up.

Listed below is the official Freebord sizing chart. It lists all the measurements I mentioned earlier; it also includes a height range beside each size.

For example, if you are 5’6″ you would ride a 77cm deck.

Pretty easy huh? Let’s try another, 5’9″, boom, you ride an 80cm deck.

Okay, fairly straightforward, now say you’re 6’1″, uh oh, looks like you have to make a decision between an 83 or 85cm deck.  This is when all of those other measurements come in extremely handy, consider the following:

If you’re 6’1″ technically both boards could fit you, but it really comes down to personal preference.

Some people (myself included) enjoy a larger stance due to the extra stability a larger deck gives you. Again, this is all preference, so if you have had experience with any boardsports in the past, you may prefer one over the other, but in the end either board will work for you.

* I should note that if you have large feet (size 12+ US mens), I would recommend considering the 85 or the 83cm deck due to the larger width – it helps with limiting wheel-bite.

I hope this clears up some of the confusion on sizing but feel free to ask any other questions you may have in the comment’s section below.

What if I’m 5’10.5″? I’m not sure if I should get the 80cm or the 83cm. Do you have any advice besides the stance width preference you mentioned above? Can I send my Freebord back in if it turns out to be too small or too big and get it replaced for no charge? Thanks!

      • Sheldon says:

Ya so that link is the same page I’m commenting on and doesn’t answer any of my questions. Basically I just want to know if I get a Freebord and it turns out to be too small/big, can I immediately send it back in and get it replaced with a bigger/smaller length one for free? Or would there be a charge? This is really what I’m asking, thanks!

Sorry about that haha; I was looking from the backend. If you ride it and don’t like it, there will be a 25% restocking fee if you chose to return it; however, if you get your board and you decide you don’t like it and haven’t ridden it you would just have to pay for the return shipping.

I am 6’3 so I would obviously get the 85, my issue comes with my size 14 foot, will I have any issues? Toe drag sucks on snow if I am not careful about the board width and duck stance.

    • Freebord says:

You should be good, man. The 85cm deck is a lot wider than the rest of the lineup to accommodate for larger feet. Feel free to hit us up at Info@Freebord.com for any other questions. Hope this helps!

I am 5’7″ and 14. I was originally looking at the 77 cm board but I am still growing, do you think I should get the 80cm?

  • Genevieve says:

I am 5’4″ what size board could / would I get?

  • Adrián says:

Hi i’m from Barcelona i am “176cm height is really near to 180cm for 83 size” i know that i can ride 83 size with no problem i think….

but my question is : Can i ride comfortable the size 85? for more stability and more real feel like size of snowboard or 85 size will be too big and stance too wide for my height?

  • ADRIAN says:

Hi i’m 176cm height i want to go for the 83 size but is it posible to ride 85 size for more real feel in size like snowboard? or 85 size will be for me a lot wide? and stance to wide?

    Thanks

    • Stevie-B says:

      Hey Adrian,

We’d recommend the 80cm for your height. Board length simply determines stance width. So, if you’re used to a wider stance go with a longer deck. Feel free to email us at Info@Freebord.com if you need anything else!

I am 6’6″ 220 pounds… Would I be OK getting a 85 cm or am I out of the game because I’m simply too tall and heavy for this dope Board?

  • Nef says:

I’m 5’5 and although you recommend the 75 for my height I’m also quite light 120 pounds so I was considering getting the 77 for more stability. What do you think?

  • Nef says:

I am 5’5 and although your guide recommends the 75 cm deck i was wondering whether its a good idea to get the 77 instead to help with stability since I am also quite light around 120 pounds. What do you think?
