Monday, November 30th, 2009BSV Results Are In…
Monday, November 23rd, 2009Big congratulations to Stevie-B, the winner of the 2009 Freebord Best Submitted Video Contest!
1st Place: Stevie-B – “The Bay Remix”
“The Bay Remix” blew the judges away with its super clean production and smooth, stylie riding. For his tribute to the hills and riders of the SF Bay Area, Steve gets the BSV 2009 trophy as well as $500 cold hard cash.
2nd Place: Sam Trowbridge – “Flow“
Proving that you don’t need a crew to make a dope ass video, Sam Trowbridge from Western Australia is the proud new owner of this Burton camera backpack, perfect for lugging around all your gear while you’re out riding.
3rd Place: Arnaud Blin – “Chrilogie Teaser“
Coming in a close third, Arnaud Blin and the CHoE crew for their Chrilogie Teaser. These guys took the competition last year, and brought another solid edit for ‘09. Arnaud will be getting this camera pack just in time for snowboarding season in the Alps (that lucky bastard!).
Special shout out to Corey Lucero and Roberto Lopez, whose vids made the top 5 and will be featured on the BSV page through 2010!
Thank you to everyone who took the time to make videos and send them in… this year brought some new diversity and raised the bar once again on video editing coming out of the Freebord community.
Team Submissions 2010
Friday, November 20th, 2009Freebord is now accepting submissions for the 2010 Pro Team. If you would like to be considered, you have until December 31, 2009 to submit.
Here’s how it works:
- Put together a 2 minute edited highlight reel that shows us what you got (make sure you highlight all aspects of your riding). We want your best raw riding clips sequenced together into a 2 minute max video. You can use clips we have already seen from this year or new footage.
- We will be looking 100% at the quality of your riding, not your editing – so your video should showcase your best riding clips. Period. This is not a concept video. You can add music if you want or keep the audio raw – your call – but no effects otherwise.
- For reference, check out this year’s FRA rookie/rider nomination video. This is a little more polished than what we want from you, but the segments are in line with what we’re looking for.
- Upload your video to any video hosting site (Vimeo, Youtube, Dailymotion….) and email the link to team@freebord.com.
- We will only accept one video per rider.
- All videos are due by December 31, 2009. No late submissions will be considered.
We will announce the 2010 team sometime in January. If we select you to the team, your team submission video will be the first video that we use for your team section on our website.
This year we’ll be putting more resources into our European team riders and bringing on Arnaud Blin as our European Team Manager. We’ll still have the one Global team, just with Arnaud as a local contact for those guys across the pond. He’ll be working closely together with Freebord USA to involve all the team members in video production, events, tours, contests, etc.
Good luck and let us know if you have any questions…

Top 10 Best Submitted Videos
Tuesday, November 10th, 2009
The BSVs killed it again this year with another amazing group of entries from all over the world. Once again we were blown away with the quality of videos and the progression of the riding we’ve seen coming in from the community. It was a tough decision but these 10 stood out above the rest for their creative filming and editing, solid riding and overall entertainment value. In no particular order:
Flow – Sam Trowbridge (Australia)
The Primate Holocaust – Roberto Lopez (Spain)
Bissiv – Corey Lucero (USA)
Chrilogie Teaser – Arnaud Blin (France)
The Bay Remix – Stevie-B (USA)
Rolling Home – Darren Baca & Adam Stanton (USA)
Nanar in Yaute – Aurélien “Nanar” Quiblier (France)
Deja Vu – Tyler Murgo (USA)
Without Concept – Denis Lapiner (Germany)
Three Times Platinum – John Laudin (USA)
We’ll be passing these on to our judging panel who will narrow them down to a top 5, to be featured on the Freebord BSV page for 2009.
Congrats to the finalists and thank you to everyone who submitted – we appreciate the time and effort everyone put in to creating their entries. If you didn’t make the cut this year, stay tuned for 2010.
